BB TO CONDUCT PREPARATIONS AT CHAMPION STADIUM

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will take their preparations for the 2024 season to Champion Stadium in Mponela, Dowa District, where they will play two training matches on March 9 and 10. The TNM Super League defending champions are planning for a camp in Mangochi district ahead of their trip to Champion stadium in Dowa. FCB will play against Kambelembele FC from Dzaleka in their first training match on 9 March and they will therefore play against Kasungu based team Chatoloma ADMARC the following day. Bullets Chief Administrative Officer Albert Chigoga confirmed about the training camp saying the camp will help to their preparation to Champion stadium Chigoga said, therefore before travelling to Mponela, the team will go to Mangochi for camp training. AIRTEL SAID NOTHING ON CONTRACT RENEWAL

The Sponsors of the Airtel Top 8 Cup, Airtel Malawi, broke silence on whether they are going to extend their contract with Football Association of Malawi saying they are still under discussion. The managing Director for the company, Charles Kamoto, said this at the Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre during the award presentation ceremony. He said they came only for awards and not for contract renewal. "We have been talking to FAM about the new deal, I will not say much but I will be able to say it on another day since today we are here because of Maule. The time will come and we will tell you if we will still have the Airtel Top 8 but what I can say is that we are motivated." Said Kamoto. SILWIMBA JOINS THE BLUE FAMILY

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers has announced the signing of Civo United captain Timothy Silwimba. The star has put on paper a three year deal, this means the contract will last up to 2027. The signing of Silwimba is a third signing of the Nomads this season. Nyerere made the announcements on Monday but Owinna had reported about the move on Friday last week. Speaking after putting a pen on paper, Silwimba was happy to join the blue camp. I am very excited to join the blue family. HOSTS HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO ALLOW THEIR OPPONENTS TO TRAIN ON THEIR PITCH AHEAD OF A MATCH

Super league coaches have been advised to be on forefront to allow away teams, their opponents to do preparations on their pitch freely without being abused in any ways. Chairperson for Football Coaches Association, Aubrey Nankhuni have asked his fellow Malawi’s football coaches to fight against the challenges that away teams faces whenever they visit their friends. Many visiting teams are denied chances to train/ do their preparation on the host’s pitch ahead of the match. These issues have to be addressed and the practice have be completely condemned. HAIYA HAVE URGED COACHES TO WORK EXTRA-HARD

The president of Football Association of Malawi FAM have asked Malawi’s elite league football coaches to work with commitment in order to contribute their players to national team equally. Haiya said this at Mpira village at Chiwembe in Blantyre during the opening of refresher coaching courses. The course have started today and will be conducted in two days, where coaches will be equipped with knowledge on how they can analyze players’ performance. The course also focuses on how they can work digitally with the technological world we are in day. The president highlighted that it’s not normal to let only three teams, namely FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Sliver Strikers to contribute their players to national team. FAM TO CONDUCT REFRESHER COACHING COURSES TOMORROW

Football Association of Malawi FAM will from tomorrow conduct a two-day refresher coaching courses for super league coaches in preparation for 2024 season which will kick-off very soon. Speaking in an interview the FAM Technical Director Benjamin Kumwenda said the course will be held Mpira village in Blantyre. The course will focus on player performance analysis. According to the technical director after this course coaches will be able to assess the performance of his players. This will be helping the coaches to make a proper line-up and feature the players in the field according to their performance. In addition he said this will also boost the competition among players and also among teams. The course will be facilitated by South Africa’s Sinesipho Mali who is currently working as a performance analyst for South Africa national team. DALITSO SAILESI REBUFFS K19M FROM FIFA

The former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets star, Dalitso Sailesi have denied to receive a compensation amounting to K19 million from FIFA for the breach of contract by Lusaka Dynamos, saying that it is contrary to what FIFA said before. In 2019 FIFA through resolution chamber ordered Lusaka Dynamos to compensate Dalitso for the breach of a contract with total of K95.2 million because they failed to follow the terms and conditions of the contract. But after Dynamos were declared bankrupt in March 2023, Dalitso through his representative Felix Ngamanya asked FIFA to compensate him through its fund for football players. In an interview yesterday Felix confirmed that FIFA have offered Dalitso 19 million kwacha, and they have denied the compensation since it is not what they agreed. Sailesi   

NYERERE HAVE ANNOUNCED THEIR NEW TECHNICAL PANEL

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have released the list of new technical panel yesterday. Swazilimo Ramadhan has been given a role to lead the team as a coach while Meke has been chosen as a vice coach. Steve Madeira and Yasin Osman has been appointed as a team manager and a technical director respectively. Swazilimo Ramadhan the head coach is the ex-coach for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets while Meke Mwase is the former coach of Malawi’s national team the Flames.     Wanderers have told their newly elected coaches Swazilimo Ramadhan and Meke Mwase, the head coach and the assistant coach respectively, to fulfill their targets to lift the TNM Super League title and two trophies in the 2024 season as agreed. BB INJURED PLAYERS TO RECEIVE MEDICAL TREATMENT IN ZIMBABWE

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets board members are planning to send their injured players to Zimbabwe for a medical treatment. The players are the goal keeper Clever Mkungula, defending mid-fielder Frank Willard and their pacey left back Alick Lungu, who were injured last season. Administration Officer for Nyasa Big Bullets, Albert Chigoga yesterday confirmed in interview that the hospital which will treat these three superstars has already been known in Harare. “According to what doctors have told us the injuries of these players are crucial such that they need to be treated with care” he said. So the boars is planning to fry these players to Zimbabwe in Harare were they will treated accordingly. FIFA COMMENTED ON THE RUMORS OF THE INTRODUCTION OF THE BLUE CARD

FIFA has today issued an official statement regarding yesterday’s information about the introduction of a blue card in football. According to FIFA, it is premature to talk about this. FIFA wishes to clarify that reports of so called blue card, “at elite levels of football are incorrect and premature. Any such trials, if implemented should be limited to testing in a responsible manner at lower levels, a position that FIFA intends to reiterate when this agenda item is discussed at IFAB AGM on 2 March” To recap, it was reported yesterday about the possibility of introducing a blue card in football, which would be given for tactical fouls and disputes with the referee. A player receiving two such cards would be sent off the field for 10 minutes. Blue card will be used to force the player off the playing field for ten minutes if he commits a foul that prevents an attack deemed dangerous or if a player protests a lot to a referee. WANDERERS TO ANNOUNCE MARK HARRISON’S REPLACEMENT

  Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC have finalized the hunt for a new coach. Nomads are expected to announce who will replace Mark Harrison through this year’s football season any time from now. The team’s technical director Yasin Osman confirmed that everything is completed concerning interviews but he won’t reveal who has taken the role now. He said Wanderers are the ones to announce very soon. Osman accepted that Meke Mwase is among list of the coaches who submitted their papers and he is among those who has conducted the interview. The Nomads have been without a coach for over a six weeks now, following the departure of Briton Mark Harrison who joined UD Songo of Mozambique in December.
