WANDERERS TO ANNOUNCE MARK HARRISON’S REPLACEMENT
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC have finalized the hunt for a new coach. Nomads are expected to announce who will replace Mark Harrison through this year’s football season any time from now.
The team’s technical director Yasin Osman confirmed that everything is completed concerning interviews but he won’t reveal who has taken the role now. He said Wanderers are the ones to announce very soon. Osman accepted that Meke Mwase is among list of the coaches who submitted their papers and he is among those who has conducted the interview.
The Nomads have been without a coach for over a six weeks now, following the departure of Briton Mark Harrison who joined UD Songo of Mozambique in December. It understood that over 30 local and foreign coaches applied for the coaching role following the resignation of Harrison.
In a bid to ensure the smooth flow of the process. The Nomads set up a special technical committee to oversee interviews which were conducted on Monday. Committee Chair Yasin Osman said that they have submitted the name of the coach to take up the hot seat but declined to reveal his identity.
But according to our sources, the committee have submitted the name of local coach, Meke Mwase and some international coaches as favorites to get the job at Lali Luban. Make Mwase is the former national team coach, Flames.
Mighty Mukuru wanderers will have a lot of new faces in this upcoming season following the desolation of its board. The Nomads board was dissolved in past two weeks. Mpinganjira who is now the boss of Wanderers Company limited have selected new board of directors who will run the club this season. Despite some faces being maintained but a lot of faces are new.
The reveal of a new coach will excites Noma fans, especially if the local coach will be recruited. Some Wanderers fans at Ndilande in Blantyre told the Sports Brain that they will be happy if Wanderers will recruit a local coach because the communication becomes easy as they use a mother language during training sessions. They added that if they want to do better this season the board should let the coach to decide who to play.
Tamandani Chiwanga, Wanderers supporter said the executive members must not at any cost interfere with the coaching panel. Let the coaches do their work and prove themselves that they are capable or not.
