HOSTS HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO ALLOW THEIR OPPONENTS TO TRAIN ON THEIR PITCH AHEAD OF A MATCH

Super league coaches have been advised to be on forefront to allow away teams, their opponents to do preparations on their pitch freely without being abused in any ways.

Chairperson for Football Coaches Association, Aubrey Nankhuni have asked his fellow Malawi’s football coaches to fight against the challenges that away teams faces whenever they visit their friends. Many visiting teams are denied chances to train/ do their preparation on the host’s pitch ahead of the match. These issues have to be addressed and the practice have be completely condemned. So coaches have to act as exemplars to treat their friend will love by allowing them to conduct their preparation freely without being denied a chance.

Nankhuni have said this today at Mpira village at Chiwembe in the city of Blantyre during the opening of two-day refresher coaching courses. The aim of this courses is to equip TNM super league coaches with knowledge on how they can analyze performance of their players. The course also focuses on how these coaches can use digital knowledge or technologies to football in order to help their teams to do better.

The refresher coaching courses have started today at Mpira village in Blantyre, where the president of Football Association of Malawi (FAM), Fleetwood Haiya have opened the course in the morning. The course will be facilitated by Sinesipho Mali from South Africa.
Nankhuni speaks with concerns that it is very sad to see some super league coaches taking part in malpractices instead of treating a visiting team with respect and good care. “We as coaches we have to be the first ones to treat our fellow coaches and the entire team will care and support”.

The Chairperson have communicated this due to some concerns from other TNM super league teams who complained they were being mistreated by some teams. “We were being mocked and denied a chance to practice on their pitch despite having a match the following day”. The teams said this also contributed to their failure to win away matches in 2023 season.
