HAIYA HAVE URGED COACHES TO WORK EXTRA-HARD
The president of Football Association of Malawi FAM have asked Malawi’s elite league football coaches to work with commitment in order to contribute their players to national team equally.
Haiya said this at Mpira village at Chiwembe in Blantyre during the opening of refresher coaching courses. The course have started today and will be conducted in two days, where coaches will be equipped with knowledge on how they can analyze players’ performance. The course also focuses on how they can work digitally with the technological world we are in day.
The president highlighted that it’s not normal to let only three teams, namely FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Sliver Strikers to contribute their players to national team. It’s only these three teams who are regarded as heavy weights which contribute many players than the other. “I am strongly arguing what people says that if you want to be called to flames you have to join the mentioned teams. This is not true, all the players from all team have the ability to play for a national team if they are doing well”.
Aubrey Nankhuni, Chairperson for National Coaches Association have congratulated FAM for the refresher coaching courses. He said this will help to energize the competition among teams in the coming 2024 football season. Commenting on the contribution of players to the national team he said it is true that its only three teams who mostly contribute their players to the team. Therefore Nankhuni encouraged the coaches to work hard and strive to send their players to the national team.
Milias Pofera Jegwe one of the coaches who attended the course asked his fellow coaches to use the skills and knowledge they will acquire during the course, during the season in order to help their teams to perform well. He said he will work hard and hoping to do better throughout the season.
The course will be facilitated by South Africa’s Sinesipho Mali who is currently working as a performance analyst for South Africa national team.
