FAM TO CONDUCT REFRESHER COACHING COURSES TOMORROW

Football Association of Malawi FAM will from tomorrow conduct a two-day refresher coaching courses for super league coaches in preparation for 2024 season which will kick-off very soon.
Speaking in an interview the FAM Technical Director Benjamin Kumwenda said the course will be held Mpira village in Blantyre. The course will focus on player performance analysis. According to the technical director after this course coaches will be able to assess the performance of his players. This will be helping the coaches to make a proper line-up and feature the players in the field according to their performance. In addition he said this will also boost the competition among players and also among teams.
The course will be facilitated by South Africa’s Sinesipho Mali who is currently working as a performance analyst for South Africa national team.
FAM said the game has evolved a lot and the use of technology in analysing team performance and opponents is the game changer in modern football. “We are living in digital world were things are changing every day and this includes the game of football. We want our coaches to adapt to the change by starting to use computers and video data analytics in coming up with game plans as well as post match analysis.
There are concerns from football fans that style of play of some teams, tactics and technical approaches are not impressive. So FAM have deliberately come up with this refresher course to make sure that coaches are well prepared for the new season. Coaching tactics must be impressive and exciting and competitive.
In the two days, the coaches will go through the progressive coaching and the global analytical and global models. So as an association we would like all the elite league coaches to be on the same level and equipped with coaching tactics.
