PATRICK MABEDI HAS NAMED A 27-MAN SQUAD OF LOCAL PLAYERS
Flames coach Patrick Mabedi has named a 27-man provisional squad of local based players which will go in camp on Sunday in preparation for a four-nation tournament later this month.
Malawi will host Kenya, Zambia and Zimbabwe at Bingu National stadium in Lilongwe during the forthcoming FIFA window from 18 March up to 26 March 2024. The tournament will help the flames to prepare for World Cup qualifiers and African Cup of Nations tournament coming in days.
Mabedi has called three goalkeepers namely Innocent Nyasulu and Austin Chirambo of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets as well as George Chikooka of Silver Strikers.
Defenders are Mark Lameck and Nickson Mwase from Silver Strikers, Dannie Chimbalanga from MAFCO FC, Chimwemwe Nkhoma , Stanley Sanudi and Lawrence Chaziya from Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, Yamikani Mologeni and Blessings Mpokera from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Alex Kambilinya from Wakawaka Tigers and Joseph Balakasi, from Dedza Dynamos.
Midfielders are Chrispin Mapemba, Yankho Singo, Lanjesi Nkhoma, Patrick Mwaungulu, and Lloyd Aaron from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. Wisdom Mpinganjira and Francisco Madinga from Mighty Mukuru Wanderers. Chimwemwe Idana and Patrick Macheso from Silver Strikers and Wongani Lungu from Ekwendeni Hammers.
The strikers who has been called are Olson Kanjira from Kamuzu Barracks, Christopher Kumwembe and Clement Nyondo from Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Ephraim Kondowe from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
