NBS BANK TO UNVAIL THE 2024 CHARITY SHIELD PACKAGE TODAY
The 2024 Charity Shield package to be unvailed today by NBS Bank, the sponsors at their headquarters in the city of Blantyre.
Speaking in an interview the NBS acting Head of Marketing and Customer Experience James Chikaonda said the bank understands the need to impact other people’s lives through the Charity Shield.“Together with Fam [Football Association of Malawi], we try to identify a need that we can address. Just like last year, we will donate proceedings of the match to another cause.“We, as a Caring Bank, believe that we have a role to play in helping the needy because some of them might be our customers or connected to one of our customers,” Chikaonda said.
The money collected on the gate during Charity Shield match is donated to the needy. Last year the money collected was given to people who were badly affected by cyclone in lower Shire.
NBS Bank has sponsored the cup for two consecutive years, having gone into partnership with Football Association of Malawi (Fam) and this year will be their third year. Last year, the bank rised the sponsorship package to K20 million from K15 million in 2022, with the proceeds being channelled towards survivors of Tropical Cyclone Freddy, which hit most districts of the Southern Region.
